Description:
At WeCare Housing and Support Limited, we offer numerous services targeted towards vulnerable and struggling individuals in need of support and safeguarding. Our goal is to provide shelter, tenderness and a safe space to those in difficult positions and this extends out to those struggling internally with mental health issues and learning disabilities.
We are looking to hire a youth support worker for a supported living home, caring for young people between 16-25 with complex mental health issues and learning disabilities, such as autism.
In this role, you will be working one-to-one with individuals with varying intensities of the above listed issues, as well as leading support groups. You will need to be able to form a healthy, friendly relationship with our tenants, as well as be able to talk respectfully with them especially during particularly hard moments.
It is essential that you have some experience in support work and desirable if you have qualifications, such as a Disability Support Worker certificate for example, to support your application further. You will also be required to complete a DBS check due to the nature of the job.

SUPPORTED LIVING
POST TITLE: Youth Support Worker
ACCOUNTABLE: Senior Support Worker/Service Manager
BASIC HOURS: Flexible weekdays, overnights and weekends where required, plus being prepared for being On Call for Out of Hours.
Roles of the job will be to:
* Monitor the health and safety of the young person and the property through domestic routines and structural boundaries within the home
* Monitor the young person's ability to engage with everyday living and develop skills where necessary
* Establish good relationships with the young people
* Promote professional boundaries between employee and young people
* Escalate concerns including safeguarding regarding young people's welfare to Head Office
* Encourage young people to access education, training, employment and any other activities supporting any application or enrolment process
* Complete daily notes regarding each young person's progress
* Attend regular support & supervisions
* Welcome applicants without experience who are willing to gain further qualification and broaden their knowledge
* Will be expected to work; Days, Waking Nights, Overnights and weekends as required.
Desirable Skills:
* 12 months experience working with young people- can be volunteer or personal experiences
* Ability to prioritise actions to achieve goals set
