Are you passionate about workplace safety and ready to make a meaningful impact? We’re seeking a dedicated Safety Advisor to join our team in Cranbrook, BC. This role reports directly to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager and works closely with local operational leadership to ensure a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct and update hazard assessments for ongoing and new activities.
2. Develop and revise Safe Job Procedures and Safe Work Practices.
3. Lead and support incident investigations and ensure timely follow-up.
4. Monitor and coach field-level hazard assessments.
5. Develop Exposure Control Plans and support environmentalpliance.
6. Oversee subcontractor safety assessments and orientations.
7. Deliver safety training and conduct emergency drills.
8. Support Return-to-Work (RTW) programs and young worker monitoring.
9. Conduct audits, inspections, and ensure regulatorypliance.
10. Facilitate monthly safety meetings and maintain safety documentation.
11. Act as a key resource for safety-related inquiries and initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications
12. Minimum 3 years of experience in a safety-related role; construction or traffic control experience is an asset.
13. Diploma or certification in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
14. Professional Safety Designation (or ability to obtain) is essential.
15. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
16. COR Auditor Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
17. Environmental training or experience is an asset.
18. Strongputer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
19. Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
20. Excellentmunication, time management, and organizational skills.
21. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
