What will I be doing?
As Corporate Affairs Manager for the northern region, you will be a strategic member of our customer‑facing communications team. You’ll lead the delivery of both contractual communications commitments and proactive campaigns that strengthen SUEZ’s reputation and relationships across the region.
Working closely with operational teams, community groups, the media, and political stakeholders, you will act as a trusted adviser on external affairs, ensuring SUEZ communicates clearly, confidently and responsibly. This is an autonomous role where you will shape and deliver corporate affairs strategies that align with local priorities and national sustainability ambitions.
* Managing proactive and reactive media relations
* Designing and delivering communications campaigns that enhance the reputation of SUEZ and our customers
* Leading public affairs activity, providing political insight, analysis and briefings for senior stakeholders
* Managing issues to protect SUEZ’s reputation and support resilient operations
* Engaging internal teams across the region to share, inform and inspire
* The role can be based at one of our sites in the North West or North East of England, with hybrid working available. Some travel within the region is required
What are the requirements?
You will have substantial public relations and / or public affairs experience in a role that demonstrates managing this on behalf of multiple stakeholders, supported by a commitment to ongoing professional development. It would be beneficial if you already had some knowledge of the recycling and waste management industry or of working in a similar operational environment, although this isn’t essential.
* Political insight and the ability to think strategically
* Experience developing and delivering end‑to‑end communications strategies
* Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
* Confidence in issues management and navigating challenging situations
* Exceptional writing skills for varied audiences and channels
Line management experience is required, as is a valid UK driving licence.
