Job Description
Registered Residential Home Manager | Elderly & Dementia Care
Ripley, Derbyshire
Salary: Up to £56,000 per annum
Bonus: £10,000 discretionary bonus
Would you rather lead through relationships than rigid process?
Do you believe your best work happens where your leadership is felt daily, not quarterly?
Are you looking for autonomy that is backed, not boxed-in?
Then this could be the role for you!
We are looking for a Registered Home Manager within a trusted, operationally mature care provider that has developed a strong reputation across the Midlands, operating a portfolio of smaller, stable, high-occupancy residential care homes for older adults, including specialist dementia support.
Their structure is intentionally lean and operationally supportive, enabling managers to lead with autonomy, visibility and confidence, while having the backing of an experienced operations leadership team.
What differentiates this provider:
* Consistent and structured operational support, including oversight of CQC compliance, quality frameworks, staffing, occupancy strategy and enquiry pipelines
* Leadership culture rooted in mentorship, team confidence, long-term development, and psychological safety
* A staffing strategy focused on sustainability and low-agency reliance
* Internal leadership movement that prioritises impact, quality of care and cultural stewardship
* An environment where managers are expected to lead people — not politics
This is a provider that believes great homes come from supported teams, and supported teams come from trusted leadership.
The purpose of the role is to lead the overall day-to-day operations of a smaller residential elderly and dementia care home, aligning home performance to organisational strategy while mentoring and developing a committed team to deliver strong resident outcomes and consistent KPIs.
As the Registered Residential Home Manager, you will:
* Drive performance across quality of care, governance and compliance
* Maintain and positively influence occupancy and enquiry pipelines
* Mentor and support carers, seniors and care leaders
* Lead recruitment and retention when required
* Identify early signs of performance risk and act with measured, timely interventions
* Lead with visible presence, emotional intelligence and cultural confidence
The home will perform best when its leader brings steady assurance, instils team confidence, and protects what is already working well.
Requirements:
* Previously held CQC Residential Registration as a Registered Manager (essential)
* Must come from a residential elderly care home management pathway
* (Not domiciliary or nursing-only backgrounds)
* Dementia care understanding desirable
* Strong people leadership skills
* Comfortable managing on-call duties
* Governance & KPI ownership experience
* NVQ Level 5 Leadership & Management or equivalent
