Position: ISS Switchboard Operator (Contract: Healthcare)

Working Pattern: Weekend Helpdesk / Switchboard
Shift Patterns: 06:00 - 14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00
Contract Type: Permanent
Hourly Rate: £12.61
We are seeking a part-time Switchboard / Helpdesk Operator to join Queen Elizabeth Hospital. In this role, you will connect callers to the appropriate departments and contacts across Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, and ensure helpdesk tasks are completed efficiently. You will handle both internal and external inquiries, including emergency calls, supporting the Trust's Emergency Preparedness Plans.
The Role
1. Provide courteous and helpful support to callers.
2. Operate the internal bleep system.
3. Maintain the hospital's database of personnel, departments, and telephone numbers.
4. Perform clerical duties to promote efficiency.
5. Follow emergency procedures for incidents like bomb alerts or chemical spills.
6. Manage the CAFM system and internal Helpdesk, liaising with the FM team.
7. Work on public and bank holidays as the department operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
Requirements:
* Strong communication, clerical skills, and computer literacy.
* Reliability and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Previous experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
