Children Looked After (CLA) & Care Leaver Administrator
To work within a team of administrators, nurses and doctors based in Stevenage. The Children Looked After (CLA) & Care Leavers Health Service works in partnership with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) Children's Services to identify the health needs of CLA and Care Leavers.
The main focus of the CLA Service is to co‑ordinate the administration of health assessments on behalf of HCC for CLA and young people placed both in and out of the county to meet their health needs. The team relies on other service providers completing health assessments, including CLA GPs, East & North Herts Acute NHS Trust Paediatricians, and other CLA health teams in other Counties.
Main duties of the job
* Co‑ordinate the administration of health assessments for children and young people in the care of Hertfordshire County Council.
* Act as the point of contact for the CLA & Care Leavers Health Team, taking messages accurately and communicating effectively to team members.
* Organise workload as agreed by the Named Nurse and Senior CLA Co‑ordinator.
* Carry out complex administrative duties within the agreed CLA pathways.
* Maintain computerised systems required to meet the needs of the service.
* Ensure all referrals are recorded and referred to the appropriate person, team or clinician within Hertfordshire and across the UK, in accordance with established timeframes.
* Receive and transmit highly confidential information via email to colleagues, partners and external agencies across the country.
* Prioritise own work daily to meet timescales and deadlines with accuracy.
Qualifications
* GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 4 in Business & Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Skills
* Highly organised, attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
* Ability to maintain judgement under pressure and work within agreed deadlines.
* Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages including Word, Outlook and Excel.
Experience
* Excellent, extensive administration experience. Proactive attitude and ability to handle a variety of tasks using different systems efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.

£25,760 to £27,476 a year pro‑rate per annum.
