Multi-skilled Operative

Salary: Up to £14.84 per hour, plus company van & fuel card
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (8–5 Monday–Friday)
About the role:
We’re on the lookout for talented and versatile Multi-Skilled Operatives to join our team in Dover, supporting a busy social housing contract. We are recruiting for two positions within this advert:
1. One role focused on Planned Works
2. One role focused on Voids
Both roles offer a hands-on opportunity to deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance across a range of trades, helping to ensure residents’ homes are safe, functional, and well maintained.
These are dynamic roles where you’ll be responsible for carrying out multi-trade works across social housing properties. Depending on the role, you will either be delivering planned maintenance programmes or preparing void properties to a high standard ahead of re-let. No two days are the same, and your ability to adapt, problem-solve, and deliver excellent customer service will be key to your success.

We’re looking for reliable operatives, skilled across multiple trades, who take pride in getting the job done right first time.
Duties:
3. Carry out day-to-day repairs across void and planned works social housing properties
4. Replacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames
5. Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
6. Repairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges
7. Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks
8. Carrying out patch plastering and making good damaged walls or ceilings
9. Completing wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
10. Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair works
11. Ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
12. Working in properties with professionalism and respect for residents where applicable
13. Reporting any further works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues beyond scope
14. Deliver excellent customer service at all times
15. Accurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
16. Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
17. Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets
18. Participate in out-of-hours emergency repair rota as required (where applicable)
Role Criteria:
19. Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating)
20. Full UK driving licence
21. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
22. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
23. Excellent customer service skills
24. Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
25. Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems
26. Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
