Therapy Assistant - Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team

Integrated Discharge Team Therapy Assistant ,Band 2 (with progression supported to band 3 on completion of internal competencies). Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00 (30 min lunch)
We have an exciting for a suitable candidate to join our Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team working within the Emergency Department and Acute Medical wards.
The role will involve supporting gathering subjective information from patients and relatives about social history. Physically it will involve supporting assessments alongside qualified professionals and also delivering care independently as delegated. This may be delivering exercise programmes, issuing walking aids or other ADL aids, stair assessments, toilet/bed transfers etc
Main duties of the job
The role is integrated between our Therapy Teams
They will treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required and reporting back to the Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist regarding patient progress and any problems

Job responsibilities
Essential experience required:
You will have good written and spoken English and experience working with the general public.
You also should have some experience working with individuals with a disability. Previous experience working in the NHS would be helpful.
You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be able to prioritise your work.
Computer skills are essential - training in local systems will be provided.
Informal visits will be available to shortlisted candidates only.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
* Good spoken English.
* ECDL or equivalent level computer skills
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
* Experience of working with people in some capacity.
* Experience working with people with disabilities.
* Previous work experience in the NHS.
* Previous work as Therapy Assistant.
