This role You'll be stepping into our first VP Engineering position, playing a critical role in owning and leading on the growth of our product, people & organisation. This is an opportunity to work alongside our CEO to have a long-standing impact on our ways of working, product & technical strategy, team growth and the success of engineering. From day one, you will be accountable for leading the build and delivery of the engineering strategy and roadmap, helping to solve complex technical and organisational challenges that will shape the future of Risk Ledger. As an experienced, product-minded senior leader, you will ultimately be responsible for scaling and maturing our existing engineering function. As a passionate people manager, you'll also foster an environment that enables engineers to succeed and perform at their best, both individually and collectively. Initially, you'll support them in reaching their full potential and lead the team in their day-to-day execution to achieve product & engineering goals. As we scale engineering capability, you'll look to bring in additional management expertise to allow you to focus on leading the function and thinking ahead. You'll hire new engineers into the team with the necessary skills to meet our goals, whilst holding a high bar for excellence Have an impact. We're a growing startup - so expect to have a hand in everything from product decisions to company strategy You'll have; Many years of proven experience as a Senior Engineering Leader (VP-level), working closely with product leadership & the executive team, responsible for a high-performing engineering function with either single or multi-disciplinary teams (ideally within a post-Series A startup) Solid experience building and owning execution of engineering strategy and planning whilst also overseeing day-to-day execution and delivery for a complex product, ideally B2B Experience working in a cross-functional, product-led environment, contributing to product vision and strategy within startup(s) at a similar stage of growth. A deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities of scaling engineering capability and how to effectively navigate these. An innate sense of curiosity, with a keen interest in the product that your team are developing and in the operations of the wider business A truly passionate people-person with extensive experience managing the development and performance of a diverse team of managers and software engineers in all aspects.
