Technical Manager Bunwell, Norfolk Salary: £45,000 £50,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: MondayFriday, 8:30am 5:00pm (flexibility required around factory hours 6am3am) Pin Point Recruitment are proud to be supporting, an established and growing specialist manufacturer of premium food products based in Bunwell, Norfolk. We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the senior leadership team and lead the Technical and Quality function across the site. As Technical Manager, you will act as the sites guardian of technical compliance, food safety and product qualityworking closely with external bodies, suppliers, and customers to ensure standards are maintained in line with UK legislation, retailer requirements and certification schemes. You will drive continuous improvement and maintain a strong food safety & quality culture throughout the organisation. Role Purpose Lead the Technical and QA departments, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, legislative and customer standards. Manage external audits and accreditation including BRC, Halal, EHO, and customer audits. Act as the main technical contact for customers and suppliers, resolving issues and supporting new product development. Ensure manufacturing processes are robust, compliant, and capable of consistently producing high-quality products. Develop and implement the technical strategy to support future growth, automation and system improvements. Key Responsibilities Primary Technical contact for customers and certification bodies Manage customer standards, product claims and export requirements Lead audit programmes (BRC, Halal, EHO, customer audits) Manage customer product specifications, complaints and information requests Supplier approval, occasional auditing and NCR monitoring Investigation and response for raw material complaints Oversight of factory QA and food safety systems Equipment and engineering standards, contractor controls Manage micro and nutritional testing programmes Ownership of site NCR systems and non-conformance investigations HACCP, TACCP/VACCP, allergen & risk assessment management Traceability & Recall testing and documentation Manage change control, concessions and specification approvals Pest control management Artwork and packaging approval, labelling and palletisation checks Lead internal audits, corrective actions and quality meetings Person Specification Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail Ability to work independently, manage priorities and engage stakeholders confidently Enthusiastic team player who drives high standards Adaptable, proactive and solutions-focused Professional and positive approach with strong written and numerical skills Experience & Qualifications Degree/HND in Food Science or related field, or qualified by experience Level 4 Food Safety (or working towards) and TACCP/VACCP certification preferred Strong knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety and retailer technical standards Previous Technical/QA Management experience within the food industry (Frozen Bakery desirable) Full UK Driving Licence due to rural location Benefits Salary £45,000 £50,000 25 days annual leave (incl. factory shutdown periods) Company NEST pension Opportunity for development and progression within a rapidly expanding business Join a supportive and collaborative team culture
