Sunderland City Council is strengthening its Strategic and Sustainable Plans Team to help ensure delivery against the Councilandrsquo;s ambitious City Plan goals. It is an exciting time to join a successful team and help shape the future of our vibrant and growing city.andnbsp; The Council adopted its current Core Strategy and Development Plan in 2020 and is seeking to develop a new Local Plan at pace in alignment with the reformed planning system. andnbsp; We are looking for a skilled and experienced GIS professional to help support the team in the preparation of the new Local Plan.andnbsp; The role will involve creating and editing spatial data and gathering intelligence to inform the policies of the Local Plan.andnbsp; The role will also help provide support to the wider functions of the Strategic and Sustainable Plans team.andnbsp; The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate proficient use of GIS software and its application to present spatial data.andnbsp; An understanding of planning policy data and mapping would also be desirable.
