We are looking for an experienced Distribution and Warehouse Manager to join an aspiring company based in Dewsbury. This is an ideal role for Distribution and Warehouse Manager who is highly organised and conscientious.
The Distribution and Warehouse Manager will be responsible for to planning, organizing, coordinating and controlling Logistics of the whole business and the production within one department. The main responsibility is to ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently and are of the correct quantity, quality and cost, and leave the factory on time.
The role of the Distribution and Warehouse Manager involves:
1. Responsible for ensuring that H&S policy and correct PPE is adhered to on the shop floor
2. Responsible for the delivery of the production plan schedule
3. Responsible for ensuring that H&S measures are maintained
4. Ensuring that the production is cost effective; (Cost per bed target)
5. Ensuring the labour resource planning to support the production schedule
6. Ensuring that products are produced on time and are of good quality
7. Liaise with external couriers regarding the logistical side of the business
8. Exporting goods overseas and nationwide
9. Organising shipments
10. Operating IT systems
11. Negotiating and agreeing contracts
12. Developing and confirming schedules
13. Planning for and negotiating technical difficulties
14. Preparing paperwork for regulatory bodies
15. Liaising and managing staff
16. Implementing health and safety standards
17. Ensuring that the team are managed in line with the company's policies and goals;
18. Reviewing worker performance and addressing any performance issues within the team
19. Identifying the team’s training needs.
The Distribution and Warehouse Manager position will suit a person with skills:
Proficient on implementing Lean Manufacturing Techniques
Mechanical maintenance –qualification (advantageous)
Proficient with Microsoft excel
SAP – experience
Full time 40h per week
Salary is £28-£30 dependent on experience
