The role
Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year Requirements: Strong background in software or application development. Experience working with Python and/or Microsoft technologies. Experience building and integrating APIs and services. Ability to deliver solutions end-to-end, from design through to deployment. Confident communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Good understanding of AI and Generative AI concepts and use cases. Interest in applying emerging technologies to solve real problems. Experience building AI-enabled features or tools is desirable. Knowledge of technologies such as RAG, vector databases, or LLMs is desirable. Background in regulated, public sector, or customer-focused environments is desirable. Experience working with CRM, contact centre, or case management systems is desirable. Awareness of accessibility, data protection, or service design principles is desirable. Responsibilities: Design and build applications and tools using modern engineering practices. Develop integrations, APIs, and automation to support key services. Translate business and user needs into working technical solutions. Explore where AI and automation can add value to real workflows. Build and test prototypes, then iterate based on feedback. Support deployment and early-stage live running of new solutions. Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to shape and refine ideas. Work across the full development lifecycle, from shaping ideas through to production-ready delivery. Apply AI and modern software engineering practices to real-world service challenges. Work closely with product, user experience, and operational colleagues to deliver user-focused solutions. Technologies: AI CRM Support Python More: We are offering a 6-month fixed-term contract for an AI Engineer role based in Birmingham, working predominantly remotely with occasional office attendance and more frequent attendance during probation. This is a full-time position of 35 hours per week, with a salary circa £50k.
