Housing Officer
Do you have what it takes to make positive change?
The primary purpose of the Housing Officer role is to work within our Housing First Service and support Service Users to make positive change and gain life skills by offering long-term support without a fixed end date. Recovery varies by individual needs, characteristics, and experiences. The service is designed to deliver flexible levels of support to help people maintain tenancies and address other identified needs.
Housing First differs from most supported accommodation by not depending on tenants engaging with other services, instead offering intensive tenancy support. You would be responsible for proactively engaging clients and tailoring the service to the individual, rather than trying to make the individual fit the service. Caseloads are small, allowing staff to be persistent and proactive, doing ‘whatever it takes’ and not giving up or closing cases when engagement is low.
ACT is an employer who believes in work-life balance, reward, and recognition. Support and opportunities for personal development will be provided.
