A vacancy has arisen for a Squadron Leader OF3 (Any Profession) to serve as OC Force Development Sqn at RAF Cosford on FTRS (HC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 06 April 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). Force Development Squadron, RAF Cosford is responsible for the delivery and administration of Force Development activities, Transition to Conflict planning (TtC), Personal Development Training and neurodiversity support across RAF Cosford and its resident units. The successful candidate will be expected to develop, maintain and facilitate RAF Cosford’s FD Strategy, as well as the management and supervision of Force Protection Training Flight (FPTF), the Learning Centre and Training Development Flight (TDF). You have overall responsibility for the planning, implementation and assurance of Force Development policy. The successful incumbent will be expected to manage multiple projects under Force Development umbrella, including adhering to the requirements of AP 3379, Lft 2125 - Force Development Squadron Roles and Responsibilities. Responsibilities include (not limited to): • Provide Development and Training opportunities for all RAF Cosford and parented personnel (IAW elements of AP3379 and specifically Lfts 1550 and 2125). • Devising and implementation of a Staff Development Programme for all Stn personnel (IAW AP3379 Lft 2410). • Command and exercise line and functional responsibility for all staff within Force Development Squadron. • Provide and manage an effective FP training organisation at RAF Cosford; co-ordinating specialist FP input to support both ACE and TtC initiatives. • Planning, provision, direction and control of Sqn training resources to implement training policy. • Enable access to Force Development, including Adventurous Personal Development Training and Staff Rides • Deputising for the Station Commander when required. • Support and engagement with the Learning Centre • Support RAF Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) programme.
