KS2 Teaching Assistant
* Annual Salary: £14.63 per hour
* Location: Heysham
* Job Type: Part-time, Temporary (initially from 1st September 2026 to 18th December 2026 with potential extension for the full academic year)
Join a friendly and supportive primary school in Heysham as a KS2 Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for both experienced Teaching Assistants and those recently qualified, offering a great opportunity to work within the Year 4 and Year 5 classes. The position is set to start in September 2026 and may extend for the full academic year for the right candidate.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the educational and social development of children in Year 4 and Year 5.
* Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering educational activities.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment.
* Work closely with other staff to monitor the progress of students.
* Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
* Support children with different educational needs and backgrounds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience working in KS2 is desirable but not essential.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and the school.
* Exemplary attendance is essential
