Our client, a leading energy and infrastructure company is currently recruiting for to a Business Development Manager to join their team on a permanent (staff) basis. The position offers the flexibility to be based at their offices in Aberdeen, Inverness, or Edinburgh.
ROLE
* The Business Development Manager to drive growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across our core markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, strengthening industry relationships, and positioning the company for long-term success.
* The Business Development Manager will work closely with senior management, commercial, engineering, and project teams to develop strategic initiatives, win contracts, and ensure continued business success in a highly competitive market.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Business Growth:
* Develop and implement business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities across offshore wind, and energy transition projects.
* Lead market research efforts to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
Client Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
* Act as the primary point of contact for business development engagements, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
* Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the company's market presence.
Tendering & Proposal Development:
* Lead the preparation of bids, tenders, and commercial proposals, working closely with technical and commercial teams.
* Develop compelling value propositions tailored to client needs and project requirements.
* Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements to secure profitable business opportunities.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination:
* Work closely with operations and commercial teams to align business development efforts with company capabilities.
* Provide strategic input on pricing, service offerings, and partnership opportunities.
* Regularly report on business development activities, pipeline status, and revenue projections.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications / Requirements / Experience:
* Experience in renewable energy projects (offshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture).
* Proven track record of winning contracts and growing business in the offshore energy sector.
* Strong understanding of project delivery and commercial models.
* Excellent negotiation, networking, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
Soft Skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
