An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative individual with experience and keen interest in mental health to join the Offender Health Division at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Role Overview
This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills as an Integrative Counsellor/Therapist/Psychotherapist within a prison environment, working with a diverse client population. The environment is challenging but offers the chance to build resilience, clinical experience, and collaborate with a dedicated team including healthcare leads, social workers, psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists, and more.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supporting the psychological therapies team in assessments and delivering individual and group therapy.
2. Contributing to the development of specialist treatment programmes, research, and projects.
3. Participating in multidisciplinary team (MDT) work, research, evaluation, and publication efforts.
4. Providing highly specialist therapeutic work within a neurobiological model to offenders in prisons.
Additional Information
This post is paid at band 5. You will be expected to fund your own training but will be supported with study time for university coursework where possible. DBS check costs (£26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced) are deducted from salary, and enrolment in the DBS Update Service is encouraged for an annual fee of £16.
