We’re looking for a Retail Assistant to join our hardworking team at North Devon District Hospital, helping us deliver exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support our retail and catering areas, ensuring they remain clean, organised, and welcoming throughout the afternoon and early evening. What You’ll Do: Serve food and beverages with excellent customer care Clear tables and maintain a hygienic dining environment Carry out daily cleaning duties in retail areas and offices Follow cleaning schedules and use materials safely in line with COSHH guidelines Support stock rotation, restocking, and general upkeep of retail space Work as part of a friendly, supportive team to keep our spaces running smoothly What You Bring: Essential: Experience in a catering or customer-facing environment Good communication skills Strong awareness of Health & Safety practices Flexible, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team Desirable: Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality, Catering, or Customer Service Understanding of infection prevention and control in healthcare settings What we offer: Working at Sodexo isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to make a difference every day.
