About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with SEN. This position allows you to make a tangible impact on students’ learning experiences while working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance.
Responsibilities
* Support teachers in classroom activities, ensuring students with SEN can access lessons effectively.
* Provide 1:1 support to students as required, including helping them stay focused and engaged.
* Assist with personal care tasks where needed, maintaining dignity and respect for all students.
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) or learning support plans to meet students’ unique needs.
* Monitor and report on student progress, highlighting achievements and challenges to teaching staff.
* Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
Qualifications
* Experience supporting children with SEN in a classroom or similar educational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to different student needs.
* Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
* Patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting student development.
* DBS check (or willingness to apply) and knowledge of safeguarding requirements.
