Our engineering design consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to support Water clients based out of their Bridgend office on a permanent basis.
Key skills required for this role
Responsibilities
Technical
* Sound approach to the application of engineering practice.
* Preparation of outline & detailed design in accordance with relevant design standards.
* Preparation of clear and well-structured design calculations, reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
* Knowledge and experience of BIM-led design, and ability to use common structural design software such as STAAD Pro, FEM Analysis and Design, or Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis.
Project Management
* Plan for effective project implementation.
* Manage planning and organisation of tasks, people, and resources to deliver successful projects within time and budget.
* Prepare and control project budgets and understand commercial frameworks.
* Ensure work complies with internal quality standards, health & safety, and environmental legislation.
People
* Provide technical training and mentoring to Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Technicians.
* Coordinate work of team members to ensure timely and robust project delivery.
Stakeholder
* Collaborate with clients, contractors, and supply chain to develop project objectives.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Skills, knowledge, and qualifications
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Good motivation and people management skills.
* Knowledge of Eurocodes, UK Industry Codes of Practice, and ability to mentor others.
* Willingness to work in various UK offices and client sites for short-term assignments.
* Valid UK/EEC driving license.
* Chartered membership of a relevant professional body or working towards it.
* Strong technical design experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Performance-focused and innovative in delivering cost-effective solutions.
Additional benefits
* Salary up to £52,000 depending on experience.
