Our client has an immediate need for an experienced Production Planner.for an 3–6-month contract They will soon be looking to fill this role as a permanent position, therefore this person is also able to apply for this when it is available
The Production Planner manages all Production and Master planning for Product Company Eastbourne.The main objective of the role is to establish a production plan in line with demand placed within SAP and reflect actual activities in the system to ensure the ERP planning facility is in line with actual production
* Create executable production plans in line with growth plans
* Act as the conduit for information to external and internal customers
* Support the Planning Manager in creating achievable and targeted Master plans to achive business objectives
* Highlight over demand and suggest mitigations
* KPI reporting
1. To provide accurate production and despatch dates to the Customer centres, Logistics, Procurement and Shop floor to support accurate scheduling, Labour resource planning and Materials resource planning in the most efficient and effective way.
2. Periodically review orders in backlog, re-schedule and find root cause to lack of schedule adherence. Then embed root cause findings into work to lists going forward.
3. To be the conduit of information from the shop floor to external ‘customers’ providing routing updates and exceptions escalated accordingly
4. Engage with The Site Cell leader, their deputy and Team Leads to create an achievable but growth targeted work to list.
5. Advise, in advance, the Operations team the need for further resource, overtime and/or sub-contract by identifying demand over capacity
6. Expedite production to meet the plan through Cell Leaders and Team Leads
7. Embed NPI schedules from Engineering into production plans ensuring NPI stage gates are met and that CSD is met
8. Manage exceptions (e.g., machine failures, test failure, human resources, materials supply issues) and recovery plans; communicate impacts and prioritize activities
9. Optimize factory planning process alongside the Planning Manager
10. Maintain planning data with SAP.
11. Maintain Eastbourne Master Planning tool, refreshing monthly inline with new supply, labour, and machine information.
12. Review and report OTD, schedule adherence, output value and any other appropriate KPIs
13. Support the Planning Manager in carrying out any other appropriate duties
Required
* Demonstrable experience in planning a manufacturing facility
* ERP package experience (ideally SAP)
* Strong Microsoft office skills, especially Excel
* Excellent inter-personal skills
* Clear and concise communicator
* Ability to produce, read and react to KPIs effectively
* A background in Master planning
Desirable-
* Experience communicating with global markets
* Electronics and PCA manufcaturing processes
* Knowledge in Power Bi
* Lean Six-Sigma training yellow belt or higher or relevant and demonstrable experience
