Adept Resourcing is proud to be working exclusively with one of our key clients in the search for a proactive and commercially minded Account Manager to join their operations team based in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and growing business with key accounts across the UK.
As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing contract-based customer accounts, overseeing the quotation process, and supporting high levels of customer service and operational efficiency. This is an office-based role requiring strong communication, organisation, and a commercial mindset.
Who We're Looking For:
We seek candidates with proven experience in an Account Management role, ideally managing contract-based accounts, though this is not essential. Alternatively, candidates from a strong administrative background with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills who are eager to grow into an account management role are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, commercially aware, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meet and exceed targets for quotes, orders, and margins
2. Manage and schedule work for the Account Coordinator, reporting on performance
3. Issue accurate quotations that meet client needs and standards
4. Maintain pricing schedules as directed
5. Plan and manage customer interactions via CRM, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up
6. Collaborate with internal departments to maximise business opportunities
7. Produce regular KPI and management reports
8. Identify and log new business opportunities and account growth potential
9. Complete all relevant administration to a high standard
Key Competencies:
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Planning and analytical thinking
* Commercial sensitivity and team collaboration
* Background in engineering or experience in the industry
* Experience with SMR processes and/or waste management equipment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
* Sales experience (internal and/or external)
Salary: £28k basic + bonus, with free parking, 21 holidays increasing to 25 plus bank holidays.
Type: Permanent, full-time; Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm
