About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive the acquisition of new strategic partners within the Water Treatment sector. This is a pure hunting role focused on identifying, engaging, and signing partners who are ready to transform their service delivery through remote monitoring and IoT‑enabled solutions.
You will engage senior stakeholders, build strategic business cases, and secure long‑term partnering agreements that support significant operational and commercial transformation.

âś” Direct experience in the Water Treatment industry is mandatory.
This role requires a deep understanding of water treatment operations, commercial models, regulatory challenges, and service delivery frameworks.
Candidates without Water Treatment experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Partner Acquisition & Growth
Proactively prospect and secure new partners within the Water Treatment sector (with potential expansion into other industries).
Engage stakeholders at operational, technical, compliance, financial, and executive levels.
Conduct consultative discovery to understand business models and build credible, financially supported business cases.
Deliver persuasive presentations tailored to partner needs.
Close partnership agreements and secure the first deployment project.
Collaboration & Support
Work with product teams to relay market intelligence and customer insights.
Provide support on large, complex partner-led opportunities when joint selling is required.
Handover newly signed partners to the Partner Account Manager for long-term support.
Coordinate internally to align operational, technical, and commercial resources.
Planning & Reporting
Maintain a detailed, accurate sales pipeline and forecasts.
Develop quarterly prospecting plans and review performance monthly.
Skills & Capabilities
Strong hunter mentality with a proven ability to initiate and convert new channel partnerships.
Confidence engaging senior executives in multifaceted buying environments.
Consultative selling excellence, with strong questioning, analytical, and commercial skills.
Ability to present compelling value propositions and articulate future‑state operating models.

Experience Required
Minimum 5 years in a channel‑focused Business Development role.
Proven experience within the Water Treatment industry - this is essential.
Demonstrated success securing strategic partners using a business‑case‑led approach.
Experience selling technology, IoT, or software‑enabled solutions into indirect channels.
Knowledge of service‑based operational models and compliance‑driven environments.
