Job Title: Sewing Machinist
Location: Tylacelyn Rd, Tonypandy CF40 1JS
Duration: 6 months of Contract - Ongoing
Hours of work are 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Our client is a specialist manufacturer of inflatable rescue, recovery and survival equipment. They are looking to hire a Sewing Machinist to join their production team. This role involves operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture and assemble various textiles used in their products.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch various textiles.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, patterns, and work instructions.
* Measure, cut, and prepare materials for sewing using templates and hand tools.
* Assemble textile components with precision, ensuring alignment and seam integrity.
* Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Maintain sewing equipment and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
* Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve fabrication challenges.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as an industrial sewing machinist
* Skilled in handling a variety of textiles and understanding their properties.
* Ability to work to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
* Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
* Familiarity with health and safety practices in a production environment.
