Overview
We are delighted to be working exclusively with a high-growth business in the SaaS/Technology sector in their search for a Head of Legal. The company recently underwent a private equity takeover and is now in an exciting growth phase. They seek an experienced commercial lawyer with strong skills in complex commercial contracts negotiations, compliance and data matters to lead on business-as-usual commercial legal work and to manage a small team. You will report directly to the CEO and have the opportunity to review, design and implement more sophisticated and efficient ways of working within legal operations, with the main focus on core commercial contracts.
The role is suitable for either:
* a) a senior commercial lawyer seeking a step up into a Head of Legal role, responsible for leading business-as-usual core commercial contracts, stakeholder management as the lead lawyer in the organisation, and managing more junior lawyers and compliance professionals; or
* b) a lawyer already operating at Head of Legal level who wants a more dynamic growth environment.
The key requirement is experience in the SaaS/Technology sector and/or in a customer-facing/sales-oriented business.
Responsibilities
* Lead business-as-usual (BAU) core commercial contracts and associated negotiations
* Manage compliance and data protection matters relevant to the business
* Lead a small team including junior lawyers and compliance professionals
* Engage with and manage key stakeholders; report to the CEO
* Design and implement more efficient and sophisticated ways of running legal operations
Qualifications
* Experience in SaaS/Technology sector or a customer-facing/sales-oriented business
* Strong background in complex commercial contract negotiations
* Ability to operate at Head of Legal level or to step up from senior commercial lawyer
Offer & Working Arrangements
* Base salary circa £130,000 with attractive wider perks
* Hybrid working policy with some office contact required in the West Midlands
