We are looking to enhance our already exceptional workforce with a new role in Childcare.


Role Summary

Role Title: Work Based Learning Practitioner - Childcare

Location: Deeside

Contract Type: Full time: Permanent

Salary: £32,608 - £36,748

We currently have a vacancy for a full-time Work Based Learning Practitioner in our Childcare provision for learners who are specifically working with children up to age 8. It is essential that the successful candidate is a fully bilingual Welsh speaker.


Responsibilities

* Assess the full range of qualifications within the relevant subject areas (Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) in line with awarding organisation requirements.
* Work with a caseload of learners determined by the college caseload formula.
* Conduct Initial Assessment for learners, enrolment on appropriate courses and provide coaching, mentoring and learning opportunities as well as delivery of underpinning knowledge sessions (1:1 or workshops; maximum group size 8).
* Monitor learners’ progress towards qualifications, provide constructive feedback and guide them to prepare an e-portfolio of evidence.
* Assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal quality assurance.


Essential Requirements

* A professionally relevant qualification in Childcare, to carry out assessments up to Level 5.
* Possess or be willing to work towards an assessors qualification (TAQA).
* Possess or be willing to work towards a Quality Assurance qualification (Currently 401 TAQA Unit).
* Be a fully bilingual Welsh speaker.
* Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above.
* Possess or be willing to work towards a Digital Literacy Level 2 qualification.
* Proven industry experience within a professionally relevant area (Childcare / Early Years).
* Experience of liaising and partnering with external managers in industry.
* A demonstrated commitment to the maintenance and development of quality standards within education.
