CNC Recruitment looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support our clients busy Maintenance department. You would be working with other professionals, you'll improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and follow strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes. The day-to-day activities of this role include reactive and preventative maintenance within the factory on various machinery, ensuring machinery and equipment runs smoothly to maintain production and quality Location – Crewkerne Working hours – Day Shift, 39 hours per week Hourly rate - £35,000 - £40,000 Key Responsibilities: Checking and calibrating instruments to make sure they are accurate and repairing faults if found. Fitting new parts Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. All Electrical work including lighting, wiring, testing, alarm systems and lighting systems. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies. Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Responding immediately to equipment and machinery breakdowns Fixing faults or arranging for replacements to be installed Keeping production managers informed of progress As a fitter, you’ll service and repair the equipment. You could work on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or computerised systems. Making scheduled checks on machinery and parts Oiling and cleaning machinery and parts Overhauling and replacing parts according to schedule Requirements Fault finding within an industrial environment Experience in a maintenance role Background working within Manufacturing/ Plastics/ Aerospace/ Automotive/ Precision or similar experience. Able to follow health and safety regulations. Dual Skilled mechanical/Electrical is preferred. Experience of working within an engineering environment Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Engineer Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance. Experience of working within a foundry, preferred but not essential Benefits GCSE Grade C Maths & English or equivalent. Relevant electrical qualification (City and Guilds, 18th edition or NVQ level 3) HNC or HND in either General Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Operations – Desirable Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
