JOB : Design and Manufacturing Engineer
LOCATION : Wigan
TERM : Permanent
SALARY : GBP 40,000 : GBP 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
My client design and manufacture high:tech products for a global client base. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of manufacturing principles to join their team in Wigan on a permanent basis.
The Design and Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
: BSc / BEng / MSc / MEng / HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
: Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor etc.
: 4 or more years' of experience working in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
: Experience with SAP software
: Good experience with Continuous improvement
: Experience with process management
: Good knowledge of different metal materials, manufacturing techniques and machining processes
: Have a methodical approach to work
: Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
: Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi:disciplinary team
: Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
The Design and Manufacturing Engineer role will involve:
: Working in a small multi:disciplinary team on varied projects
: Using SolidWorks, Inventor CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
: Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
: Liaising with manufacturing providers
: Being involved in final assembly of products
: Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
