Contract (ongoing, possible temp to perm). Approximately 40 hours per week, £22.00/hr plus holiday pay.
Job Description
The Coating Inspector will travel to each facility to conduct inspections of pending areas and applied coating to ensure compliance. Initial role is contact with van supplied and expenses paid.
Responsibilities
* Pre‑Surface Inspection
* Environmental Monitoring – Checking ambient temperatures, relative humidity, and dew point to ensure optimal curing conditions.
* Dry Film Thickness (DFT) Testing – Using magnetic pull‑off / eddy current tools to measure coating thickness.
* Adhesion & Holiday Testing – Conducting pull‑off tests or scanning for pinholes to verify the integrity and durability of the paint system.
* Dilapidation/wear inspections – Conduct scheduled repeat inspections over specified time periods.
* Documentation – Maintaining meticulous daily logs, recording deviations, and verifying that the work meets standards.
* Inspection equipment audit – Ensuring suitability and effectiveness.
* Special coatings – Inspection of specific coatings such as galvanising coatings and industrial wet paint systems.
Requirements
* Experience performing coating inspections within industrial estates.
* Experience with galvanising and wet paint systems and applications.
* NACE Level 2 qualification.
* ICORR Level 2 qualification.
* Valid driving licence.
* Good IT standard – capable of recording digital information.
