Job Summary
We are seeking to add some new members to our existing team of examination invigilators. We require authoritative and confident individuals who are able to help invigilate public and internal examinations at AUEA on a flexible basis.
Hours are casual and variable, normally between 8.30 am – 4 pm, with the greatest requirement being during the core public examination period from the beginning of May-end of June. Additional hours may also be available at other times of the year, notably November/early December and February/March when internal exams are undertaken.
Working as part of a team under the direction of the Academy's Examinations Manager and a member of our Senior Leadership team, full training will be provided.
Duties
* Supervise candidates during examinations to uphold exam rules and prevent misconduct
* Verify candidate identities and ensure all necessary documentation is in order before testing begins
* Distribute exam materials and provide clear instructions to candidates
* Monitor the examination environment, ensuring a quiet, secure, and comfortable setting
* Address any issues or irregularities promptly and report incidents according to protocol
* Assist with setting up examination rooms prior to sessions and packing away materials afterwards
* Maintain accurate records of attendance and any incidents that occur during the exam session
* Support candidates with general enquiries related to the examination process, ensuring clarity and reassurance
Qualifications
* Previous experience in teaching or educational supervision is preferred but not essential
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying instructions and expectations
* Ability to remain vigilant and impartial throughout examination sessions
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a professional manner
* Comfortable working in a structured environment with strict adherence to policies and procedures

The salary is £15.69 for the first hour and £14.57 for each subsequent hour (inclusive of holiday pay).
