MIT Ltd is seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Driveline Assembly and Remanufacturing Hub in Kent. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient operation of our Service Department, responsible for delivering driveline components and assemblies to agreed quality, delivery, and cost targets. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Operations Manager will possess strategic thinking capabilities and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills.
Operational Leadership:** Set up and maintain efficient factory, workshop, and warehouse operations, ensuring the delivery of driveline components and assemblies to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- **Team Management:** Administer all aspects of the workshops and factory personnel, providing operational leadership, guidance, and training to staff within the team. Lean Manufacturing:** Implement and promote lean methodologies to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance service delivery. Quality and Compliance:** Ensure compliance with relevant UK legislation and company QHSE (Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment) procedures for factory operations. Manage timely submission and satisfactory closure of all warranty claims efficiently.
- **Strategic Planning:** Contribute to the strategic planning process as a member of the senior leadership team, ensuring the Service Department's objectives align with the company's overall strategy.
- **Performance Monitoring:** Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and drive operational efficiency. Apply an analytical approach to problem-solving, using data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve service outcomes.
- **Special Projects:** Undertake special projects as may be assigned, ensuring site security and safety, and liaising with the Sustainability Executive.
Sound financial acumen relating to sales, costs, margins, and operational efficiency.
- Valid driving licence.
- The role may require occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
- The position involves sitting for extended periods and dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.
- The role may involve some travel for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
