Harvey Nash's public sector client is currently looking to recruit a Developer to join their team based in Edinburgh for an initial 6-month period.
Description:
An experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate a move from legacy on-prem registers to new cloud-native solutions. The focus of the work will be the collaborative development of new serverless micro-services using AWS Lambda functions and TypeScript/JavaScript.
Essential Skills:
* AWS including:
o CDK
o Serverless (Lambda)
o S3
o API Gateway
o CloudFormation
* TypeScript (or modern JavaScript)
* Making excellent quality software with other people.
* Working with business stakeholders, to understand the context, and to focus on delivering value.
* Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
* Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills
* Experience working in the Agile delivery models - such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
* Developing within GDS or Digital First (or similar) quality standards
* Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes
* Formal XP engineering techniques, including Pair Programming and Test-Driven Development
* Defining infrastructure-as-code
Desirable Skills:
* Human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices
* Testing tools and frameworks, e.g. Cypress
* Use of UI pattern libraries to achieve consistent, tested and high-quality interfaces
