Your Role
As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you'll focus on the technical design and coordination of renewable energy systems, supporting the delivery of energy centres, retrofit schemes, and heat network infrastructure. You€ll take ownership of key design activities across RIBA Stage 3 (Developed Design) and RIBA Stage 4 (Technical Design).
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical designs, including system sizing, switchgear layouts, and schematic diagrams
Support and lead design activities across RIBA Stages 3 and 4
Conduct electrical load assessments and prepare fully coordinated design packages
Use software tools including AutoCAD, REVIT, PVSyst, Dialux, and calculation platforms
Contribute to specifications, tender documentation, and technical reports
Work closely with mechanical, structural, civil, and sustainability engineers to ensure integrated project delivery
Support DNO applications, surveys, and construction-phase technical queries
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in low-voltage electrical design and building services engineering
Solid understanding of BS 7671, British Standards, and applicable Building Regulations
Proficiency in design and modelling tools (AutoCAD, REVIT, etc.)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Previous involvement in RIBA Stage 3 and 4 project delivery is essential
