Are you an experienced HR Advisor looking for a role that respects life outside of work?
We're offering a part‑time opportunity that fits beautifully around school hours, school runs, or other daytime commitments. If you're someone who thrives on supporting people, improving processes, and making a real impact—without sacrificing your family routine—this could be the perfect fit
We're looking for an HR Advisor to assist various contracts across two sites in Birmingham. We are looking for someone to be based at our site in Merlin Park, who can drive a culture of positive engagement whilst confidently juggling multiple priorities — from advising stakeholders on HR issues and managing Trade Union relationships, to leading communication strategies, supporting recruitment and induction, and ensuring retention and redeployment activities meet statutory and company requirements.
This is a part-time, permanent position where you'll be working Monday – Friday, between the hours of 09:30 – 14:30.
Pay, benefits and more:
We're looking to pay £21,000.00 per annum with 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme, private medical & dental insurance, a 24/7 online GP service, life assurance and a fully comprehensive employee assistance programme. You'll also have access to our MyBenefits platform offering a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, cashback cards, a saving scheme and much more
What you'll do on a typical day:
Support, coach and advise key stakeholders on all HR issues, including discipline, grievance, absence management and performance improvement
Assist in devising and implementing colleague communication and engagement strategies at site level
Deal with Trade Union representatives on all employee related matters on a daily basis and with Full Time Officials as appropriate
Contribute to the provision of systematic and effective recruitment, selection and induction processes, involving the recruitment team where appropriate
Co-ordinate and manage the HR activity required to ensure that retention and redeployment activities are executed in line with statutory and company requirements
Support a reduction in the potential for costly litigation by conducting regular and effective site HR reviews

Experience of working in a similar fast-paced HR team, ideally within a logistics or distribution environment, dealing with complex ER cases
Previous experience of dealing with Trade Union negotiation is highly desirable
CIPD Level 3 qualified, or working towards
Experience of undertaking a broad range of tasks including working with and advising line managers on employee relations issues and being involved in setting up processes and systems
