We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Data Enablement to join our senior leadership team. This role is perfect for someone eager to Build future-focused Data Engineering capabilities in with our tools and people to drive the execution of our strategic vision. You'll play a pivotal role in empowering our team to achieve their goals and deliver impactful results!
A bit about the job:
The Head of Data Enablement will lead our enterprise data engineering technology teams in building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure data platform ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring data availability, integrity, discoverability, and operational excellence across the enterprise. The successful candidate will develop automation, reusable components, and technical capabilities enabling Aviva Data Engineering Teams to deliver at pace.
Additionally, you will:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive data enablement strategy that aligns with the organisation's goals
2. Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
3. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of a consolidated data platform
4. Optimise the build and consumption of capabilities within the function
5. Manage the integration of data sources and technologies into our data lakehouse
6. Ensure high levels of data availability and integrity focussing on governance practices
7. Implement best practices to streamline data workflows and improve platform efficiency
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
8. Proven experience in a senior data engineering or data management role
9. Strong knowledge of enterprise data technologies, including AWS Data services, Snowflake, Cloud DBT, AWS Managed Apache Airflow, Attacama, Immuta, and Collibra
10. Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration and team management skills
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
12. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services

13. National salary £100,000 - £120,000, London salary £130,000-£140,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
14. Bonus opportunity -25% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
