POST OBJECTIVES:
Deliver and manage modules for undergraduate and postgraduate Football Business degree courses. Complete administrative tasks, including quality assurance documents related to student feedback, assessment moderation, and participation in Assessment Boards as required by GIS's awarding bodies. Support the Deputy Dean of the School in assisting staff teaching on UG and PG courses. Support academic provision at overseas partnerships linked to GIS courses.
KEY TASKS:
1. Teach designated modules and courses as defined by the Dean of School, including online course delivery.
2. Maintain academic standards and adhere to course and module specifications.
3. Design and deliver teaching materials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to curriculum review and enhancement to support student learning outcomes.
4. Prepare and deliver lecture and seminar materials across various levels of study.
5. Foster critical thinking and debate to develop students' engagement and rational discourse, promoting excellence.
6. Identify students' learning needs, define learning objectives, supervise projects, field trips, placements, and advise on study skills.
7. Integrate innovative teaching methods, technology, and real-world applications to enhance engagement and assessment.
8. Track student engagement and provide feedback to the Course Leader, maintaining accurate records of progress.
9. Conduct student assessments and examinations, providing appropriate feedback.
10. Mark and assess student work, and participate in internal verification processes.
11. Liaise with colleagues and External Examiners to embed best practices in academic delivery.
12. Engage in continuous professional development.
13. Develop strategies to promote and assess learning effectively.
14. Maintain in-depth knowledge of your specialism to foster new knowledge and understanding.
15. Participate in research and professional development activities.
16. Attend department seminars for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
17. Act as a responsible team member and develop productive working relationships.
18. Develop external networks to promote GIS and foster future collaborations.
19. Collaborate on assessment procedures and contribute to departmental initiatives.
20. Provide pastoral care and act as a personal tutor, offering first-line support and referring students to support services when needed.
21. Achieve key performance indicators related to attendance, retention, and achievement.
22. Work with support staff to ensure high student satisfaction.
23. Contribute to annual review and evaluation reports, implementing module action plans based on student feedback.
24. Undertake staff development and training aligned with GIS objectives, including attending academic briefings.
25. Follow Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies.
26. Perform any other duties relevant to the post.
