Data privacy lawyer

We are working with a top-tier international law firm who are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join their Data Privacy team within their Belfast office.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a fast-growing global Risk & Compliance practice, advising on data privacy and information security issues affecting the wider firm. The candidate’s duties will include creating and maintaining a global programme of measures and documentation designed to ensure on-going compliance with privacy laws, incident response and remediation, dealing with individual rights requests, and advising on the legal aspects of information security and data management.

The candidate will also demonstrate a willingness to participate in business development initiatives while managing client relationships.

Essential Criteria

• 1-4 PQE;
• Strong background in data privacy and data handling issues within a medium to large commercial firm;
• Excellent commercial awareness;
• Outstanding academics;
• Technically excellent;
• Negotiation skills;
• Willingness to become involved in business development;
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
