Housing WorkerBarnstaple3 Months37.5 Hours per Week£16.37 LTD / £14.05 PAYE (inc holiday)Join a respected Housing Association delivering vital tenancy support and housing management service within a supported housing service in Barnstaple.THE ROLEWe are recruiting for an experienced Housing Worker to oversee the day-to-day housing management and support services within a supported housing scheme.
* Deliver housing management and intensive housing support services to vulnerable customers
* Maximise rental income and reduce void loss through effective tenancy management
* Carry out tenancy inductions, property inspections, and manage repairs and maintenance issues
* Provide advice and support to help residents maintain their accommodation and achieve move-on
* Act as the first point of contact for residents, responding to welfare, health, or safeguarding concerns
* Maintain accurate records using housing management systems
* Promote resident involvement and well-being through social and community activities
THE SERVICEThis role is based in a 9 unit supported living service in Barnstaple offers shared and self-contained accommodation for individuals with support needs. It provides personalised housing-related support to help residents manage tenancies, access benefits, build life skills, and work towards independent living. The service includes regular check-ins, drop-in support, and liaison with external agencies, aiming to promote stability, independence, and community integration.THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a housing management or supported housing environment, working with vulnerable or high-needs customer groups.
* Strong understanding of tenancy/licence agreements, voids and arrears management
* Comfortable lone working and liaising with multi-agency partners
* Experience supporting individuals with complex needs (e.g. mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse)
* Good working knowledge of safeguarding and risk management practices
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and housing or case management systems
THE CONTRACT
* 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday
* 3-Month Temporary Contract with the potential to go permanent
* The pay for the role is £16.37 per hour (LTD). The PAYE equivalent is £14.05 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
