Job Title: Internal Sales Engineer
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Newport
Start Date: Immediate
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 - 16:45 | Friday, 08:30 - 14:00

JDR is recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an Internal Sales Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical or engineering background who enjoys working in a customer-focused, commercially driven environment.
The Role
As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the sales function by handling customer enquiries, preparing accurate quotations, and helping to secure new and repeat business. You'll work closely with internal departments and customers to ensure the right solutions are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to customer enquiries and confirm receipt
* Understand customer requirements, including technical specifications
* Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and purchasing teams
* Prepare and issue detailed quotations
* Source costs for materials, labour, and external services
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers
* Manage allocated customer accounts or territories

Skills & Experience
Qualifications (desirable)
* Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or similar
Experience (desirable)
* Previous sales or technical role within engineering or manufacturing

* Strong customer focus with excellent communication skills
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications
* High attention to detail
* Commercial awareness and negotiation ability
* Effective workload management and ability to meet deadlines
* Basic IT skills, with ERP system experience preferred
