Job Vacancy: Special Needs Teacher – Southampton \n\nLocation: Southampton, Hampshire\n Position: Special Needs Teacher (SEN)\n Start Date: September 2025\n Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent\n Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance\n\nAre you a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teacher to join a caring and inclusive school in Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a variety of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nTeach a small class of students with diverse learning needs, delivering a tailored curriculum to support their academic, social, and emotional development.\n\nDevelop individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the needs of each student.\n\nProvide positive behaviour management strategies, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.\n\nWork closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for students.\n\nTrack and assess progress regularly, ensuring the learning outcomes are being met.\n\nAbout You:\n\nQTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with experience in teaching students with special educational needs.\n\nAbility to differentiate the curriculum to meet the individual needs of students.\n\nStrong understanding of various SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH.\n\nA patient, nurturing, and flexible approach to teaching and learning.\n\nExcellent communication skills to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.\n\nA commitment to inclusion and helping every student achieve their potential.\n\nWe Offer:\n\nA supportive and welcoming school community.\n\nA small class size to ensure individualized attention.\n\nOngoing professional development and training in SEN.\n\nA chance to make a real impact on students' lives.\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
