Job Summary
The Registered Children's Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the care and well-being of children within a residential setting. This position requires a compassionate leader who is dedicated to providing high-quality care, ensuring safety, and fostering a nurturing environment. They are responsible for delivery of all care services, as well as the strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day-to-day management matters.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Safeguarding
* Enrich the lives of children and young people, helping them create a positive future.
* Ensure full compliance with the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, and Children's Homes Regulations.
* Oversee all safeguarding matters in line with legislation, national standards, and best practice.
* Maintain the highest standards of care, ensuring placement plans are fully implemented.
* Coordinate access to health, education, and therapeutic services to meet each child's needs.
Leadership & Practice Development
* Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching in childcare practice.
* Mentor and support senior staff to deliver the best possible outcomes for children.
* Embed the organisation's philosophy and practice framework into everyday care.
* Ensure policies and procedures are consistently applied.
Home Management
* Manage the home effectively to create a safe, warm, and caring environment.
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance systems and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted inspections.
* Maintain strong administration and recording systems.
* Manage the home's budget, ensuring financial compliance and responsible use of resources.
Team Management
* Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team in line with Children's Homes Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
* Ensure staff receive appropriate training, supervision, and appraisal.
* Support NVQ Level 3/Health and Social Care qualification progress.
* Manage staff rotas effectively to ensure safe cover at all times.
Health & Safety
* Implement and monitor Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices.
* Ensure all incidents and accidents are recorded and reported.
* Oversee regular fire drills, tests, and safety checks.
Requirements
* Proven experience in management within a senior care setting, preferably with a focus on children's services.
* Experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with families and professionals.
* Ability to create detailed care plans that address the unique needs of each child.

Pay: £40,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
