About The Role

We are looking for an exceptional quantitative researcher to join our ambitious and rapidly expanding Warwick Screening team. This is a rare chance to play a central role in a major national trial while being fully supported to accelerate your academic career through fellowships and development opportunities. In this permanent position, you will provide a crucial skill set that has immediate impact and long‑term value.

Responsibilities

* Take a leading role in the Early Detection using Information Technology in Health (EDITH) trial, a randomised controlled trial investigating the use of artificial intelligence to transform breast cancer screening.
* Support data collection and statistical analysis alongside statisticians from the Clinical Trial Unit.
* Lead a large sub‑analysis on test accuracy and produce documents to record research decisions.
* Oversee necessary amendments to the trial protocol.
* Attend trial management group meetings and present at co‑applicant meetings.
* Collaborate with team members on other projects, including analysis of the ATHENA‑M dataset of 13 million women attending breast cancer screening.
* Contribute to grant applications and publications, and grow rapidly into an independent researcher within Warwick Screening.

Qualifications

* Excellent first degree and a PhD in a relevant field.
* Postdoctoral experience in applied primary research, ideally within health screening or related areas.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively.
* Confidence navigating tight timelines and supporting colleagues.
* Strong communication, highly organised, motivated, and ready to lead when needed.
* Knowledge of health or breast cancer screening is advantageous, but not essential.

Benefits

* Comprehensive benefits package including an attractive pension scheme.
* 30 days holiday plus University Christmas closure.
* Generous parental and adoption leave policy.
* Onsite childcare facilities.
* Excellent learning and development opportunities.

Commitment to Inclusion

We are proud to offer a Living Wage and uphold strong commitments to equality, diversity, and inclusion. For more details, see our commitments at the University of Warwick.
