Associate Director Projects and Processes - Global Sustainability

Are you passionate about sustainability and eager to make a significant impact? As aAssociate Director Projects and Processes at AstraZeneca, you will manage projects and own processes that support the enterprise-wide transformation of sustainability performance. You will champion an approach where sustainability becomes fully embedded in everything we do, impacting the delivery of our flagship sustainability initiatives.
Accountabilities
* Lead cross-functional sustainability projects by establishing and leading teams in accordance with a recognized project management framework to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget (e.g., rolling out smart metering across the enterprise to support delivery of our natural resource targets)
* Own and continuously improve a range of business processes through a business process management approach
* Act as the sustainability representative to provide and/or coordinate expert input to other transformational activities
* Develop and champion sustainability strategy in AstraZeneca as a member of Global Sustainability and in collaboration with other Sustainability leaders across the enterprise
* Mobilize significant projects and alliances within internal and external stakeholder groups, bringing clarity and vision to complex situations
* Manage budget costs & benefits associated with their projects and program on behalf of Global Sustainability
* Identify and manage project-level risks on behalf of Global Sustainability and take accountability for decision-making in risk management processes
* Communicate effectively & influence others on cultural, challenging, or reputationally sensitive issues both internally and externally, driving key decision-making
Essential Skills/Experience
* Degree level education or equivalent experience
* High level of business acumen
* Experience of working on sustainability projects or within a sustainability function
* Excellent communication and team working skills
* Globally and culturally aware
* Ability to influence stakeholders across different business units and with differing levels of seniority
* Experience working within the pharmaceutical industry or other regulated industry.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* More in-depth knowledge or experience of sustainability with a level of subject matter expertise
* Having projects or change programs with an impact across multiple stakeholders in a heavily matrixed environment
