A reputed chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team in Northwich, Cheshire.
Duties
You will be responsible for supporting the Projects Director in the conceptual design, detailed design construction & installation on various projects. As the Process Engineer your duties will include the preparation and/or modification of the following:
* Conceptual designs and process development reports.
* Block Flow Diagrams (BFD) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
* Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
* Process engineering calculations.
* Material and energy balances.
* Basis of design scope documents.
* Equipment layouts.
* Process equipment specifications, data sheets, and bid evaluations.
* User Requirement Specifications (URS).
* Project status reports and programs.
* Equipment lists, line lists, and tie-in lists.
* Process system construction specifications.
You will be responsible for planning and independent working, requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to problem solutions, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and Client and/or company standards.
Qualifications
* Fully chartered Engineer qualified to degree or postgraduate level in an engineering discipline or strength in experience.
* Proven Engineering Management Experience within an Engineering Environment.
* Basic understanding of accountancy and financial control.
* Experience within a Multi‑disciplinary Engineering team.
* Computer literate in Project, Word, Excel, Access and internet.
Working Hours & Conditions
Your working hours could vary according to the type of project you are working on. Your typical hours would be 8.00 AM – 5.00 PM (with an hour break), 40 hours Monday to Friday, although you may need to work longer when deadlines are approaching. You would usually be office‑based but may spend some of your time attending meetings or visiting contractors and suppliers. Some projects may involve travel and spending time away from home. A flexible approach to working hours within your role is essential.
