Physics Engineer Industrial Placement – a 12-month placement with a starting salary of £24,500 per annum.
Opportunity
This placement offers hands‑on experience in physics‑related applications within a dynamic and safety‑focused environment. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real‑world challenges, and develop technical, analytical and collaborative skills that will support your future career.
Locations: Hinkley Point C construction site or Satellite Delivery Centre – the largest construction project in Europe. You may work in Bridgwater, Bristol (Aztec West), or the HPC site, or a combination of these locations.
What You’ll Be Doing
During your placement, you’ll be immersed in practical learning and supported by mentors and collaborative teams. Past students have contributed to safety improvement campaigns, supported radiation protection strategies, and helped maintain condition monitoring programmes across operational sites.
Additionally, you will have the chance to apply academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree.
Your Work Location
12-month placement across Bridgwater, Bristol (Aztec West), and the HPC site, or a combination of these locations.
Who You Are
* Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Physics, 2:2 or higher, on track to achieve or already achieved.
* Right to work in the UK; sponsorship may be considered, priority to those with right to work.
* Security vetting – have lived in the UK for at least three of the past five years.

To be appointed, you need to meet criteria for Security Vetting, ordinarily requiring residency in the UK for at least three of the past five years.
