VANRATH are partnered with a successful family business based in County Down in their recruitment of an Interim Head of Finance. This is initially a contract position and will offer the opportunity to secure a permanent contract for the successful individual.
Working directly with the owner and executive board, the Head of Finance will assume responsibility for all financial matters within the business, including final review of month-end accounts, cashflow forecasting, sales margin analysis, and statutory accounts preparation. Working with the wider finance team, the Head of Finance will take control of all financial reporting, maintain banking relationships, and lead and motivate a small finance team.
To be considered for this role, it is essential to be available at short notice, ideally with experience in the SME environment.

About you
* Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 5 years' experience managing a team
* Strong commercial acumen
* Strong IT skills, particularly MS Excel for financial reporting
* Ability to interact with non-finance staff
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Available at short notice
What you'll do
* Produce management reports and variance analysis
* Budgetary control, working closely with senior board members
* Cashflow forecasting
* Annual budget setting and review
* Financial modelling for costing/pricing strategies
* Managing banking relationships and exploring additional funding streams
* Managing a small finance team to ensure daily tasks are completed on time
