Location: UK - Hatfield | Job-ID: 205680 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: Purchasing & Supply ChainLife on the teamThe role is for the Group Manager of the Group Technology Sourcing (GTS) Export Office in Europe/UK. It will be part of the Logistics and Technical Services (LTS) senior management team reporting directly to the LTS Group Director.The purpose of the team is to provide a compliant and efficient export service for the supply of products to our international customers from any of our UK and EU Integration Centres (there are currently 5). The team advise on compliance, logistical and basic tax considerations, as well as monitor and facilitate export transactions, including preparing supporting documentation, completing customs declarations, engaging carriers/brokers and keeping records.The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the operation and the continuous improvement of the export service. Key stakeholders include Group Directors within GTS, as well as Finance (Tax), Legal (Trade Compliance) and Sales. The role is to be based in one of our main Integrations Centres (Hatfied, UK; Kerpen, DE; or Gonesse, FR) with team members in these and other locations across Europe. What you’ll do Provide leadership, and operational and strategic management of the GTS Export OfficeEnsure GTS export processes and systems are compliant and efficientMaintain an effective team structure to ensure a functioning day-to-day operationManage a team across the Group over multiple geographies Further develop team skills and knowledge in the area of export operationsAct as a point of escalationProvide effective leadership to drive change, innovation and growth across the Team, linked to the department and divisional goalsContribute to business strategy and prioritise projects and objectives accordingly and establishes divisional objectivesTake accountability for the delivery of business focused projects/deliverables to defined targetsProvide guidance on major or complex issues/campaignsEstablish productive relationships and networks at Executive level to build and maintain customer relationshipsEstablish close coordination and cooperation with key stakeholders and relevant business areas to ensure compliance and efficiency of the overall processCost management including regular reviewsWhat you’ll need Experience in export operations in the UK and/or EU [3+ years]Experience in dealing with Customs Authorities and systems in the UK, Germany or France would be ideal Experience working with AEB software system would be advantageousMust be fluent in English. French or German language skills will be beneficialDegree or relevant experience in international trade or logisticsGood understanding of the processes, documentation and terminology used in export operations.
