Mechanical Fitter

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering manufacturer based in Coleford. In this role, you'll be responsible for assembling a range of pump systems - including electric and diesel-driven skid sets - to engineering drawings and specifications.
You'll play an important part in delivering high-quality engineered products that meet customer and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble bare shaft pumps and complete electric and diesel skid sets following detailed engineering drawings and bills of materials.
Identify and raise any assembly or quality issues with supervisors and QA engineers.
Complete project documentation, including production data books and check sheets.
Maintain high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, QA, planners, and the test team to ensure smooth workflow.
Handle tools and materials responsibly to prevent loss or damage.
Skills & Experience
Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a mechanical discipline.
Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years' mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a methodical approach to work.Shift Pattern:
Week 1: Monday-Friday, 06:00-14:00
Week 2: Monday-Thursday, 14:00-22:00; Friday, 06:00-14:00
(30-minute unpaid lunch break per day)
