As a FEMALE Support Worker in Colwyn Bay, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, and as a Support Worker you can play a vital role in this.
Responsibilities
* Actively support individuals (both male and female) with some challenging behaviour, limited verbal communication, and learning disabilities in making their own choices and setting their own goals. This includes everyday decisions like what to wear, eat, or do, and bigger choices such as where to live, how to manage finances, or where to go on holiday.
* Help individuals lead an active lifestyle by supporting activities, meals out, appointments, and day services.
* Empower people to follow through on their choices and participate in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills.
* Provide practical support to help meet responsibilities such as paying bills, maintaining homes, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family.
* Support with personal care as required by the role, with respect and dignity.
Your goal is to make everyday remarkable by enhancing wellbeing and focusing on small, meaningful moments that bring joy and purpose. This person-centred support is designed to be rewarding for the right person.
What you’ll be doing
* Support individuals to make choices and take part in activities and services in the community.
Who we are looking for
* No experience required as full training is provided.
* Are female.
* Have patience and empathy.
* Can support a person with intimate personal care with respect and dignity.
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people.
* Have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
* Have a full driving licence – essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities.
* Have access to your own car and be happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities, with business insurance for the vehicle (company pays 45p per mile).
* Area Welsh speaker (preferred, not essential).
